Manifesto

Some rules are meant to be broken. If we break the same rules often let’s rethink.

Vision

Solve data exploration, save human’s sanity.

Lean

Financially

Bootstraped

  • Keep independent decision making, not seeking funding.

  • Cloud is OK, but we don’t touch AWS.

No Software Factory

won’t be hiring a huge crowd, see the top task method.

don’t forget what happened to these guys:

Napolean army marching to Russia

No dedicated HR

Everyone is part of HR

Top Tasks

TODO

But basically:

many many tasks.

Tasks add up to a lot, not all that many matters enough to suck up all precious time.

So, priorities accordingly:

slice accordingly

Engineering

TODO

  • Containers

  • RESTful APIs

  • Delightful UI

Product & Marketing

You probably want to read about the product

If you aren’t solving a problem, it’s likely not worth it. Better make some paintings.

Vetted Tools

Used, or encouraged to use

  • Github - for public repo and community

  • Radicle - for private and public repos, self hosted node

  • Clickup - for task mgt

  • Stackedit - for drafting markdown content

  • Slack - for async and sync communication

  • fly.io - great PaaS

  • Cloudflare - need a registrar really and cool other stuff

  • surge.sh - for scratch static deployments, but it often suffers outages so nothing serious in there, we may want to netlify.

Veto’ed tools

Certain tools have the capacity to cause too much hard to reverse damage in here, so we simply don’t tolerate them.

  • AWS and the likes

  • MS Team and MS Office proprietary formats

  • Adobe proprietary formats
